Sibyl Colefax & John Fowler, renowned interior designers, are pleased to present ‘A CUT ABOVE’, an exhibition which features 20 new works by well-known artist Pat Albeck. The exhibition will be on display in the new Sibyl Colefax & John Fowler Pimlico Road showrooms during Chelsea Flower Show Week, Monday, 22nd May to Saturday, 27th May 2017. “We are delighted” said Emma Burns, design director for Sibyl Colefax & John Fowler, “to showcase Pat’s intricately crafted paper flower collages at our new showrooms. Her outstanding designs reflect the artistry that we as a company have long admired.”
“I have always loved and drawn flowers, important when creating textile images.” says Pat Albeck. “I work from life and began experimenting with a number of different techniques but I have discovered that cut paper is my very favourite technique.” Pat favours a limited colour-range, preferring Italian coloured fine art paper for her carefully drawn botanical studies. “I never use pencil to draw first” she said , “a really sharp pair of nail scissors is all I need.”
Working with a trained eye on the shifting horticultural seasons, her exhibition will prominently display the new flower images, made expressly for the new Pimlico Road showrooms.
